After many years of showing horses, our personal hands-on approach, and some trial and error, we found our perfect Shire stallion, Forest Hills Bremer. "Bremer" is an awesome foundation Shire stallion as you can see by looking at his foals. He marks them a lot alike with his cookie cutter pattern of all black coats, a nice white blaze and 4 white socks. He also passes on remarkable characteristics, not limited to, gentleness, awesome manners, intelligence and great conformations.
Our choice of mares is given the foremost attention as well. We make sure they are a complete match to our stallion Bremer in excellence, temperament and soundness. We choose our mares very carefully from full registered and registered upgraded mares. Our meticulous selection process has allowed us a bigger, better gene pool from which to choose. These remarkable standards we have set for our breeding program, have allowed us to maintain outstanding Shire standards. For many years, prior to implementing our breeding program for the Shires, we had great success at breeding and showing other types of horses such as the American Paint Horse, the American Quarter Horse, and the Percheron Draft Horse. After seeing a Shire Draft Horse for the first time, we fell in love with their sweet disposition. We still have a few of those wonderful American Paint Horses and have upon high request bred them to Bremer for some outstanding athletic sport horses.
